Tim Herron defends Crowne Plaza Invitational title

TIM HERRON DEFENDS TITLE AT “CROWNE PLAZA INVITATIONAL AT COLONIAL” ON MAY 26-27 ON CBS SPORTS

Tim Herron returns to Fort Worth and historic Colonial Country Club to defend his title after the last player to successfully do so was Ben Hogan in 1952 and 1953. For the 34th straight year, CBS Sports also returns to Colonial Country Club in Ft. Worth, Texas, with third- and final-round coverage of the CROWNE PLAZA INVITATIONAL AT COLONIAL on Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May, 27 (3:00-6:00 PM, ET, both days), live on the CBS Television Network

Jim Nantz and Nick Faldo provide commentary from the 18th hole tower for CBS's coverage of the Colonial. Peter Oosterhuis calls the action at the 17th hole, Gary McCord at the 16th hole and Ian Baker-Finch at the 15th hole. Dallas resident David Feherty and Peter Kostis serve as on-course reporters.

Last year Herron beat Richard S. Johnson on the second playoff hole with a nine-foot birdie putt. It was his fourth PGA TOUR title. Herron tees it up against a field which includes two-time champion and all-time leading money winner at the Colonial Kenny Perry, Jim Furyk, Fred Funk, Trevor Immelman, Rory Sabbatini, David Toms, Davis Love III, Chad Campbell, Arron Oberholser, Tom Lehman, Rod Pampling, Tim Clark, Jesper Parnevik, Scott Verplank, Nick O’Hern, Brad Faxon, K.J. Choi, Rich Beem, Stuart Cink, Lucas Glover, Brett Wetterich and last year’s runner up Richard S. Johnson.

Lance Barrow is Coordinating Producer and Steve Milton is Director of CBS Sports’ golf coverage. Tony Petitti is Executive Vice President and Executive Producer, CBS Sports.
