August 23, 2007

CBS SPORTS TO BROADCAST WOMEN'S FINAL OF U.S. OPEN SERIES "PILOT PEN TENNIS" LIVE ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK ON SATURDAY, AUG 25

CBS Sports broadcasts the women's final of the U.S. OPEN SERIES "PILOT PEN TENNIS PRESENTED BY MICHELOB ULTRA," the final tournament of the U.S. Open Series, on Saturday, Aug. 25 (1:00-3:00 PM, ET). Defending U.S. Open champion Maria Sharapova has secured the 2007 U.S. Open Series title.

CBS Sports will broadcast the tournament in High Definition Television.

The U.S. Open Series, which leads up to the U.S. Open Tennis Championships, was launched in 2004 in order to create a cohesive, six-week summer tennis season for ATP and WTA Tour professional tournaments in North America. The winner of the series will be vying for bonus prize money at the U.S. Open.

CBS Sports' coverage of the 2007 U.S. OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS begins on Saturday, Sept. 1 (11:00 AM-6:00 PM, ET) with men's and women's third-round action and concludes with the men's singles final 13 days later on Sunday, Sept. 9 (4:00-7:00 PM, ET).

CBS Sports' Bill Macatee and Mary Carillo call the final live from the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale in New Haven, Conn. Craig Silver produces and Suzanne Smith directs.

Tony Petitti is Executive Vice President and Executive Producer, CBS Sports.
