BYU guard Cummard entering draft, but hasn't hired agent

PROVO, Utah -- Brigham Young guard Lee Cummard is entering the NBA Draft, but will keep his options open by not hiring an agent.

Cummard, a 6-foot-7 junior, said Friday that he wants to see what kind of interest teams have in him between now and the June 26 draft. He has until June 16 to remove his name from consideration and still be able to return for his senior season.

Cummard was an AP All-America honorable mention selection as a junior when he led BYU in scoring at almost 16 points per game and shot 57 percent from the field. He also was second on the team in rebounds, assists and steals as the Cougars went 27-8.

BYU center Trent Plaisted also has put his name in for the draft but has not hired an agent.

...that both Cummard and Plaisted return.  If they return, BYU and UNLV will be neck and neck for the MWC title.

If BYU loses both of these guys, UNLV will dominate the MWC next season.

Hopefully they realize soon enough that they should come back. Some don't improve their stock by staying but some like these 2 will. They aren't ready yet. Am sure glad they didn't hire an agent.
