Braves report: Getting inside
One 3-point shot. Or a win over Prairie View in their final game of the season, on their home court. Those are the things Alcorn State will be mulling over this offseason. Alcorn State will be spending its fourth straight year at home after the regular season. The Braves lost out in a tiebreaker to Texas Southern for the final SWAC berth after losing by six points in Houston, while winning by four points at home. But the Braves may look to another Texas team as the reason for their undoing. Alcorn beat Prairie View on the road in their first meeting, only to lose to the Panthers in their final game even while Texas Southern was losing to Southern. Prairie View is the only other team watching the festivities in Birmingham. Other than a three-game winning streak late in the season that kept the Braves' tournament hopes alive, it was a long season on the Reservation. Now the postseason will be wondering what-if as well as what the future is for coach Sam West. Copyright (C) 2008 The Sports Xchange. All Rights Reserved. | ||||||||||||
