FINAL RECORD
6-12, 7-24, tied for seventh in SWAC.

WHAT WENT RIGHT
Alcorn State did lead the SWAC in free-throw percentage, making .689 percent of its shots from the charity stripe. The Braves were much more competitive this season than they were in the past three seasons. Early injuries and players not being eligible got Alcorn off to a slow start, but the team had a promising three-game winning streak late in the season.

WHAT WENT WRONG
Alcorn never could finish a game and seemed to lack the confidence to do what it takes to win a game in the SWAC. The late-season losses to Prairie View and Southern on their home court kept the Braves from playing in the SWAC Tournament.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"We just did not play smart basketball a lot during the year. I'm disappointed in the things we didn't get done during the season." -- Alcorn State coach Sam West.
