The Boise State men's basketball program set one major goal at the beginning of the season -- make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1994. BSU lost 79-61 to Louisville in the first round of the Big Dance.

Mission accomplished, with some big milestones achieved along the way.

The Broncos shared the WAC's regular-season title and won the conference tournament for the first time in school history. The team's 25 victories and 12 road victories also set school records.

Coach Greg Graham, who completed his sixth season, is a candidate for a contract extension. Graham has one year remaining on his current contract, a five-year deal he signed after leading the Broncos to the NIT after the 2003-04 season.

The Broncos will have a tough task in duplicating the success they enjoyed this season. Four senior starters -- Matt Bauscher, Reggie Larry, Matt Nelson and Tyler Tiedeman -- have exhausted their eligibility and won't return. Three have graduated, and Larry is scheduled to earn his degree in December.

BSU does return starting point guard Anthony Thomas, while guards Jamar Greene and Aaron Garner had their moments as reserves. Forwards Mark Sanchez and Paul Noonan and center Kurt Cunningham also are expected to play bigger roles next season.

Here's an interesting nugget for the upcoming game against Louisville...

We have two common foes this year.  BYU and NMSU.
We beat BYU and BYU beat Louisville.  We run a similar style of game as BYU did, and Pitino has stated that he's a little concerned of Boise because of that.  Against NMSU, the Cards won, but the Aggies staged a second half comeback tha ...(more)

Congrats on earning your tournament bid.  That was an amazing game.  That game shows why the NCAA tournament is so unpredictable and why there are upsets like this every year in the dance.  BSU will be a tough out for anybody in the tournament.

Good Luck

I have been following Boise all year watching their games and they deserve their ticket to the dance.  Greg Graham has done well this year. This Boise State Basketball program has alot of potential With Taco Bell Arena, with being the states best program and making a case for Idaho's best recruits. I think in a few years with hard work, Boise State can potentially become a Top 25 program. Con ...(more)

Congratulations BSU on the game tonight.  It was a tough one to watch, but you guys really looked prepared and played some very good defense.  Best of luck next round.

First they have to realize that something needs to be done to create a following.  Would it hurt to have promotionals.  On occasion they can have nights where they accomodate youth.  Such as 10-12 yr old get in free one night than the next night 13-15.  It may create more interest.

Second get some games televised on channel 7.  We also have the steelheads on the ...(more)
