There aren't any expectations for a team to win only five games in conference play and 11 games overall, but Bethune-Cookman wasn't exactly looking at contending for the league title heading into the season either.

The Wildcats actually won two more games overall than last year even if they didn't win as many league contests in 2007-08.

B-CU was up and down throughout the campaign, especially early on, when a season-opening four-game losing streak was followed by a four-game winning streak. Once the conference season began, though, the Wildcats lost more than they won, including their final four games and seven of their last eight.

The Wildcats will have to say goodbye to two of their top three scorers, although top scorer and rebounder John Holmes will return for his senior season.

Coach Clifford Reed's squad had a rough go of it this year, although the slight improvements show there's some hope for the future.
