THE GOOD NEWS
The Cougars are going to have a lot of experience back, including all five starters. The team should gain a bit of confidence in its late-season run that included a four-game winning streak before falling in the Southern Conference semifinals. The team will also get a boost from playing in a new arena in 2008-09.

THE BAD NEWS
Charleston needs some size up front after seeing 6-11 senior Konimba Diarra graduate. How well the team's young players like freshmen Andrew Goudelock and Antwaine Wiggins handle opposing teams that are geared up to stop them will be interesting to see.

KEY RETURNEES
The Cougars have a number of players returning, but Andrew Goudelock is looking like a star in the making. How he follows up his outstanding freshman season will be key to Charleston's chances in 2008-09. Also back is leading scorer Tony White Jr., who averaged an identical 13.2 points per game as Goudelock. F Jermaine Johnson will be looked to as the centerpiece to a front line that should just get better.

ROSTER REPORT

--G Tony White Jr. led the Cougars in double-figure scoring performances, hitting the double-digit mark 26 times in 2007-08. White entered the season with just 11 such performances as a freshman.

--F Jermaine Johnson ranked second in the Southern Conference in rebounding, grabbing 8.5 per game. His total of 185 defensive rebounds led the league.

--G Andrew Goudelock was named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman team, named by the league's coaches.

I just set up a new college baseball forum a couple of days ago and I'm trying to get the word spread out. Should be fun once the season gets going.
