THE GOOD NEWS
The new system Jeff Bzdelik wanted to introduce as Colorado's coach is in place, complete with disciplinary measures he wants his teams to follow. Many more newcomers must grasp those principles as the Buffs reload with as many as eight new players in 2008-2009. Despite being outmanned throughout the Big 12 schedule, they proved they can compete in the Big 12, though one critical step to take will be winning on the road after going 0-8 in conference play.

THE BAD NEWS
The Buffaloes lose their playmaker at the point, G Marcus Hall, as well as their longtime go-to scorer, Richard Roby. The two seniors should be applauded for accepting the chances introduced by Bzdelik and showing their games could flourish in his system. The only returning scorer next season who averaged more than five points is G Cory Higgins (8.2). Bzdelik essentially must overhaul his roster, which a new coach doesn't mind doing, though the Buffs will lack experience.

KEY RETURNEES
The only interior player with much experience will be F Jermyl Jackson-Wilson, who, at 6-foot-6, was forced to confront bigger players on the low block and play out of position at times. The most impressive freshman at Colorado this past season was G Cory Higgins, who was solid defensively and showed signs of becoming an offensive threat. Those two players were the only underclassmen in the starting lineup, and Colorado's reserves all offered spotty production at best.

ROSTER REPORT

--With 50 points in two games at the Big 12 Tournament, G Richard Roby became the all-time leading scorer in Colorado history with 2,001 points. He became the 12th active player to achieve the 2,000-point milestone. Roby, a senior, broke the CU record (1,995) set by Donnie Boyce.

--Roby, G Marcus Hall and G Cory Higgins each started every game, becoming the first Colorado trio to do that since 1984-1985. Higgins is the first freshman to start every game for the Buffs since Roby.

--G Xavier Silas, a sophomore who started 19 games, was dismissed during Big 12 play for an unspecified violation of team rules. He ranked as Colorado's third-leading scorer with a 9.7-point average.
