WHAT WENT RIGHT
Duke jumped out to a great start, winning 22 of its first 23 games and assuming the ACC lead with a victory over North Carolina as the league's only undefeated team. The only loss in the span was a one-point overtime defeat against Pittsburgh in Madison Square Garden, and the Blue Devils advanced to a No. 2 national ranking.

WHAT WENT WRONG
The Blue Devils never found a consistent threat inside and lost five of their last 11 games when their 3-point shooting deserted them. In those five defeats, they shot only 31 percent from behind the 3-point arc. They were only 17 of 69 (24.6 percent) over their last three games, which included two losses and a one-point opening-round NCAA win over Belmont.
