Colonels report: Getting inside
To call Eastern Kentucky's season anything short of mediocre would be an understatement. The Colonels, picked second in the league's preseason poll, put together separate four- and three-game losing streaks, dropping all the way down to eighth in the league standings as the final team to qualify for the OVC tournament. Their reward? A trip to Clarksville to meet No. 1 seed Austin Peay on its home court in a revenge rematch of last year's OVC title game -- which EKU won in the last seconds. The result? A 76-51 Governors victory and less-than ceremonial ending to EKU's season. The future might be bright for Jeff Neubauer and his squad, as four of the top five scorers return.
