FINAL RECORD
14-19, 9-11 in the Southern Conference (fourth in North Division)

WHAT WENT RIGHT
The Phoenix were one of the better defensive teams in the league, giving up just 65.3 points a game, good for second in the Southern Conference behind champion Davidson. Coach Ernie Nestor went with a lot of younger players and worked on building toward the future, and that future came late in the year, with a run to the Southern Conference tournament final.

WHAT WENT WRONG
As good as Elon was on the defensive end, it struggled mightily on the offensive end. The Phoenix ranked near the bottom of the league in scoring, especially from the 3-point line, and were dead last in assists per game. When the team did well, it was often because of the defense, not the offense.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"It's very challenging to play four games in four days, but you do that because you put yourselves in that position. We're pleased with our guys' effort. They've taken us to a place we've never been to before." -- Elon coach Ernie Nestor, on the Phoenix's run to the Southern Conference tournament title game.
