So just how do you go about replacing the best player in program history? That's a question High Point coach Bart Lundy will have to tackle in the offseason as forward Arizona Reid moves to the professional ranks.

Reid racked up mind-boggling numbers during a four-year run that began with Big South all-freshman team notice four years ago, three straight years on the all-conference team thereafter. Reid finished as the school's all-time leading scorer and rebounder and won Big South player of the year two years in a row.

He was one of three players during the 2007-08 season in Division I to average 20 points and 10 rebounds per game, and he finished his career as the Big South's all-time leading rebounder and No. 4 on the all-time scoring list.

Lundy has gone through this before, replacing Big South tournament MVP Danny Gathings after the 2003-04 season. But Gathings was nowhere near the impact player that Reid, and undersized "four" man was a High Point.

"He's the type of player that can be playing in the ACC or the SEC," said Coastal Carolina coach Cliff Ellis, whose team lost to High Point in the Big South tournament quarterfinals. "He's not through playing basketball. He'll have a shot somewhere. This won't be the end of the journey for him, because he's that good. I've been impressed with the way he battles and carries himself. High Point has been very blessed. That's a tremendous recruit they got in their program, and they've done very well with him."
