FINAL RECORD
16-16, 7-7 Big South.

WHAT WENT RIGHT
F Alex McLean earned first-team All-Big South honors after finishing in the top six in the conference in scoring and rebounding. G Anthony Smith saved his best basketball for the end of the season, scoring 20-plus points in his last five regular-season games.

WHAT WENT WRONG
The Flames had no bench depth, and at the end of the season, coach Ritchie McKay admitted that his team, which featured a seven-man rotation, had hit a mental and physical wall. G TeeJay Bannister was brilliant at times, but he found his way into McKay's doghouse more than the coach would have liked.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I'm really proud that our group persevered. We, night in and night out, played seven guys. We were 12-2 at the Vines (Center), so we established some home-court confidence. We were in a lot of games. We didn't win them, but we were in them." -- Coach Ritchie McKay.

The Flames made a great improvement this year.  Are they about to turn the corner and become as good as the lady flames?  All of the other teams have improved over the years.  It makes me wonder if the Flames are about to become a force in the sports world?

I just set up a new college baseball forum a couple of days ago and I'm trying to get the word spread out. Should be fun once the season gets going.
