--LIU secured the fourth NEC tournament bid in Jim Ferry's six years on the job with a win at Monmouth. LIU missed last year's tournament.

--The Blackbirds were 1-3 in previous NEC tournament games under Ferry, winning a game against Saint Francis (Pa.) in 2005.

--LIU won the whole thing in 1984 and 1997.

--The Birds are 1-2 against Wagner in postseason play.

--The 15-14 final regular-season record gave the program its first winning regular season since 1997-98.

--LIU was 5-9 on the road this season.

--The Blackbirds' last three losses of the regular season were all by just three points each.

I just set up a new college baseball forum a couple of days ago and I'm trying to get the word spread out. Should be fun once the season gets going.
