Coach Matt Brady guided Marist to a 73-50 record in four seasons, but he chose to leave in March for the top coaching position at James Madison University.

Brady led the program to its first outright MAAC championship and first regular season win in 2006-07. Brady was coach of the year in the league and Marist set a single-season program record with 25 wins.

The task of replacing him isn't as simple as finding the next hot name. No team in the MAAC has a better record than Marist's 37-17 mark in the last three seasons.

The Red Foxes lost to Rider in the postseason tournament in March.

"I'm disappointed we ended here again in the semifinals," Marist coach Matt Brady said after it ended. "We thought that we could make a run here, get to the finals and win the whole thing."

The Red Foxes came close and in fact were close to defeating two of the top three seeds in the league, which would have given them the right to play No. 1 Siena in another rivalry game in the final. But they fell, 76-71, to Rider and Player of the Year Jason Thompson.

In addition to Brady, the Foxes will be hit hard by losses, with freshman Jay Gavin and redshirt sophomore David Devezin the keys to the offense next year, with senior-to-be Ryan Schneider stepping into the spotlight. Gavin and Schneider had big games in the finale, fashioning another preview of what is to come next season.

All right guys, this is where the season boils down to, the MAAC Tournament is just a few days away. We won in a big game against Loyola by 18. If you ask me you have finally hit stride going into this tournament. I'm excited and still see a possibility of us winning this thing!

I'll start off and say; REAL MEN DON'T WEAR PURPLE! GO MARIST!!!

i dont understand how  two senior starting fowards can have only one fg attempt in the rider game.   i think they only had 4 boards combined as well.   it seems to me that in the last two maac tournament losses, the red foxes have relied too much on the outside game.

thank you too the senior class.  and good luck to the women!

Well, I know we lost on Monday. But, in order to keep us in the hunt for the MAAC title we need this game. I need to witness a win tomorrow night, as I'll be there, against the team I hate so much in the Siena Saints.

I think we'll come out a little tense in the 1st half. We may be trailing at half time. But, we close out with a great 2nd half and making it a great Siena/Marist ...(more)
