The Racers (18-13, 13-7) probably judged their season on its success in the OVC tournament.

With that in mind, a semifinal loss to Tennessee State put a damper on the 2007-08 campaign.

Murray State supports almost unanimously believe second-year coach Billy Kennedy did an outstanding job developing his team throughout the year. The Racers started out slow in conference play, yet regrouped to finish in second place.

Murray State loses just two seniors, guards Bruce Carter and Ray George. Carter was an all-conference player and George was a key contributor, but the Racers featured a lot of depth.

More important, Kennedy is a very good recruiter and he now has a solid system in place with veterans returning.

Although the '07-08 season ended on disappointing note, the Racers should be one of the favorites to win the OVC in 08-09.
