One misstep cost UNC-Wilmington a spot in postseason play.

The Seahawks had won six of seven games as they went into the semifinals of the CAA tournament, needing just one more victory to probably assure a postseason bid. Instead they took a night off, showing a rare loss of poise, and lost to eventual conference tournament champion George Mason.

What made it hardest to take was the highest scoring team in the conference going into that game managed only 41 points against the Patriots.

It was a sad end to the careers of four seniors who did all they could to carry the Seahawks farther. Next year, UNC-Wilmington will have to go it without their top four scorers -- guard T.J. Carter, center Vladimir Kuljanin, forward Todd Hendley and guard Daniel Fountain.

Coach Benny Moss' rebuilding job will have to be around point guard Chad Tomko, who came on strong late in the year until the final game when he went scoreless.

I just set up a new college baseball forum a couple of days ago and I'm trying to get the word spread out. Should be fun once the season gets going.

I hope so, they reached 20 wins eventhough they should have done better in the CAA tournament. Its hard beating a team twice in one season and even harder beating them a 3rd time (George Mason). Lets hope the Seahawks make it to the NIT! GO HAWKS!!!

Since the Colonial Athletic Association is still an up and coming mid-major conference, the only chance the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks have of going to the big dance is to sweep George Mason and then upset a tough VCU squad.  VCU can still be an At-Large Bid for the NCAA tournament because of their record and regular season title...so let's support our Seahawks!!

Hey Fans!!

Be ready to head up to Richmond on Monday eve to be on ESPN when the UNCW Seahawks play for the CAA Championship and an automatic bid to the Big Dance. I have seen our mid-major conference grow up since my heyday back in the early 90's and we have a good chance at getting an at-large bid if we can play well in the CAA tourney. It's nice to see that we are starting to ...(more)

Alright, what a beautiful win against ODU to finish out the regular season at home! It might  be the first time since the Blizzard era that UNCW has swept ODU in the regular season, but it was definitely enough to push UNCW into a second place finish in the CAA. The Seahawks will play Saturday night around 6 pm against the winner of the #7 Delaware vs. #10 Drexel. The winner of UNCW vs. Drexe ...(more)

nice win over ga st.  two big games coming up.  a win @ home over vermont (even tho they're having a down year) would be nice and winning @ VCU would be HUGE.  we can solidify a #2 seed in CAA tourney if we can keep this up for just a few more games.
