THE GOOD NEWS
Transfers Stan Januska (Morehead State) and Tom Hammonds (East Carolina) proved to be worth the wait, averaging 23.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game combined. Eight different players led the Ospreys in scoring in at least one game, led by Hammonds (14 games) and Januska (six).

THE BAD NEWS
Opponents converted nearly 200 more free throws (552) than North Florida (357) this season, which translates to almost a seven-point difference per game. The Ospreys must get to the line more often in 2008-09 and they must knock them down when they get there. Outside of Hammonds (73.6 percent) and Cortez Riley (74.6), the rest of the team shot 54.7 percent (215-of-393) at the line.

KEY RETURNEES
Hammonds scored in double figures in 18 consecutive games over one stretch this season. Freshman forward DeVon Jones played well down the stretch, tallying 20 points against Kennesaw State on Feb. 21 and 11 boards against Florida Gulf Coast on March 1. Guard Eni Cuka transferred from Florida Atlantic in December and will be eligible to play in January 2009.

ROSTER REPORT

--Senior guard Chris Timberlake broke the school record with his 104th career start in the March 1 finale at Florida Gulf Coast. He is also the Ospreys' all-time leader in games played (116), steals (135), 3-pointers made (170) and 3-pointers attempted (474). He is second in assists (396).

--Senior center James Grimball also left his mark on the school record books. He had 14 career double-doubles and blocked more shots (99) than any player in UNF history. He also ranks second in free throws made (279) and free throws attempted (443) and is fourth in rebounds (581).

I just set up a new college baseball forum and I'm trying to get the word spread. Should be fun once the season gets rolling.
