Like some of the other top teams in the Western Athletic Conference, assessing the 2007-08 season for the Nevada Wolf Pack is a difficult task.

On the one hand, the team had its fifth-consecutive 20-win season and finished in a regular season tie for the league title, meaning they've shared or owned the WAC crown each of the past five seasons.

On the other hand, while Nevada often looked liked the WAC's best program, winning at one point 14 of 18 games, the Pack saw its streak of four straight NCAA Tournament appearances come to an end with a semifinal loss to the New Mexico State Aggies in the WAC Tournament in Las Cruces, N.M. What's worse, they didn't even get an invite to the NIT and lost a home game in the new College Basketball Invitational to end its season.

For a program that touts itself as one of the nation's best mid-major programs, failing to even get an NIT bid can only be viewed as a disappointment.

Some top-tier recruits, including McDonalds All-American Luke Babbitt, will be asked to step in and fill the star void left by graduating senior Marcelus Kemp and the possible early entry into the NBA draft of 7-foot sophomore center JaVale McGee.

Well I leave for Basic at the end of next month. Basic will be in Fort Benning, GA then I'll most likely be stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. I will be on here as much as possible while in the Army and hopefully I'll be able to catch a Wolf Pack game every once in a while. Wish me luck folks... And remember, STAY TRUE!

Go PACK!

I think the future is looking bright for last year's stars, Sessions and Fazekas.  Sessions played 37 minutes and had 13 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals in a loss to the celtics, while I had the opportunity to watch Fazekas score nine straight points for the Clippers last night in the last two minutes of the loss against the Nuggets.  The commentators were surprised at ho ...(more)

Ok, I know that football is the big rivalry between our two schools but what about basketball.  I know, I know as with football, it's a better rivalry if the teams are competitive with each other on a regular basis.  UNR seems to have UNLV beat on the football field but good luck on the court.

Do you see UNLV as a major rival in basketball.  Also, how great wou ...(more)

Now that the season is over, we can focus on next year.

How many wins should we be able to scrap together?

I have been bitter about the way UNC beat Nevada this year, and I've been holding it in.  You may remember that mid way throught the 2nd half, up by about 30, UNC began running a full court press to drive their lead up to 40.  I thought that was absolutely classless.  Does anyone remember this, and does anyone agree with me???   Does anyone care?
