THE GOOD NEWS
The Pioneers do lose some key players, including team leader Drew Shubik. But multi-sport star Joey Henley was granted another year of eligibility because of injury, and there's good young talent coming up.

THE BAD NEWS
Shubik did a little bit of everything, and veterans Brice Brooks, Eugene Pettway and Luke Granato have been through a lot with this program.

KEY RETURNEES
Joey Henley won't play football, so he should be back and healthy -- but it's been awhile since he's played basketball. Forward Ryon Howard will be a senior and figures to be a consistent scorer next season. Guard Chauncey Hardy becomes more important with Shubik gone.

ROSTER REPORT

--G Drew Shubik cleared the 1,000-point mark for his career during the NEC tournament, finishing with 1,029. He also finished with 481 rebounds, 441 assists and 200 steals. He did, however, turn the ball over nine times in his final game and 15 times in his last two games. He was third in the conference in steals, fourth in assists and fifth in defensive rebounds and assist/turnover ratio.

--G Ryan Litke was seventh in the league in 3-pointers.

--F Ryan Howard was sixth in the NEC in field goal percentage.

--Sacred Heart went 18-8 after opening the season with six straight losses, beating Central Connecticut and Wagner in the NEC tournament before losing to Mount St. Mary's in the final.

--SHU got quick revenge against Central Connecticut, eliminating the Blue Devils just four days after losing to the same team in Fairfield in the last game of the regular season.

--The Pioneers' 13 league wins were a program record. Last year's team won 12.

--Sacred Heart had lost twice to Wagner before beating the Seahawks in the NEC tournament.

--F Bryce Brooks had 22 points in the win over Central Connecticut in the first round of the NEC tournament, then had seven and 18 points in the semifinals and final.
