--Senior C Travis Peterson closed out a very good career, leading the Bulldogs in scoring (13.2), rebounding (4.7), blocks (41) and assists (107).

--Freshman G Josh Bedwell was second on the team with 54 3-pointer made, and he hit better than 46 percent from long range.

FINAL RECORD
14-16, 10-10, fifth place in OVC.

WHAT WENT RIGHT
The Bulldogs won their last three games and five of the last seven to secure a spot in the OVC Tournament. Sophomore guard Trey Montgomery emerged to be a double-digit scorer, while freshman guard Josh Bedwell was second the team with 54 3-pointers.

WHAT WENT WRONG
For much of the season, Samford labored to score in the half-court offense. In turn, it put a lot of pressure on a defense that was often overmatched. Samford also lacked a dominant and consistent force in the paint.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I thought that we played like champions. Our guys played their hearts out, but we just fell short. You look at some of the plays that UT Martin made and it's unbelievable." -- Samford coach Jimmy Tillette after the Bulldogs' 101-94 triple-overtime loss at Tennessee-Martin in the quarterfinals of the OVC Tournament March 4.
