THE GOOD NEWS
Despite losing some quality players, Samford was a young team that saw several new faces earn quality minutes. The Bulldogs are a well-coached team seldom out of a game. By dictating tempo and keeping the game in the 60s, Samford's system has been a success. More help in the post wouldn't hurt.

THE BAD NEWS
Samford loses two outstanding players in senior Travis Peterson, who averaged more than 13 points this season. Additionally, the team's top perimeter player, Joe Ross Merritt (12.1 ppg) also graduates.

KEY RETURNEES
Sophomore guard Trey Montgomery and freshman Josh Bedwell, along with sophomore forward Bryan Friday will give the Bulldogs a solid trio on both ends of the court in 2008-09.

ROSTER REPORT

--Senior G Curtis West (knee) missed most of the season.

--Samford had 10 freshmen or sophomore on its 14-player roster in 2007-08.

--Five Bulldogs, led by senior guard Joe Ross Merritt's 68, made more than 30 3-pointers this season.
