Coach Jim Yarbrough had to replace four starters, but the team had a little sign of progress this season, making the conference tournament as a fourth seed instead of an eight.

Still, the result was the same -- three one-and-done Southland Conference tournament appearances.

There is a decent amount of talent returning next season, but the bench was weak. The leading scorer will be gone, as will the point guard.

That could mean a return to the same next season. There is potential, as center Patrick Sullivan is beginning to come into his own on offense and defense. Forward Warrell Span had high points and low ones, and guard Chris Cyprian was a nice defensive addition but failed to provide an offensive spark.

The potential is there to again make the tournament. But, as far as getting beyond one-and-done, that remains a different matter.
