The Redhawks were streaky in 2007-08, and the pendulum didn't swing in their favor at that end.

SEMO (12-18, 7-13) won its first six conference games, only to lose its next six. After upsetting regular-season champion Austin Peay, the Redhawks closed out the year with seven straight OVC defeats.

The Redhawks' depth figured to be a factor this season, but the right combinations were never found in terms of shutting down opponents. SEMO allowed more than 82 points a game and even struggled to defend low-scoring teams in conference play.

SEMO lost senior power forward Brandon Foust to a knee injury on Jan. 12, and it seemed to take a toll on the team the remainder of the season. His departure, along with that of center Michael Rembert, will be tough to overcome next season.

However, SEMO returns four of its top scorers and 12 of its 15 players. If coach Scott Edgar can instill a more tough mindset on the defensive end of the court, the Redhawks might see the streaks go in their favor next year.
