THE GOOD NEWS
SEMO is coached by Scott Edgar, who was a highly-successful coach at Murray State several years ago. He is a good recruiter who knows what it takes to win in the OVC. SEMO, despite its year-end struggles, has a good nucleus of players returning.

THE BAD NEWS
Losing streaks of six and seven games in league play can be devastating. SEMO ended the season on a miserable note, and one hopes it doesn't carry over. There are several pluses on SEMO's camp, but until the Redhawks can improve their defensive play, it will be a struggle.

KEY RETURNEES
Junior F Jaycen Herring and junior G Kenard Moore combined to average more than 26 points a game in OVC play. Sophomore point guard Roderick Pearson averaged 10 points in league play.

ROSTER REPORT

--Senior F Brandon Foust (knee) suffered the injury against Austin Peay Jan. 12 and missed the rest of the season.

--SEMO will return 12 of its 15 players in 2008-09.

--SEMO allowed a league-high 82.6 points in conference play and allowed 90 or more points six times against OVC foes.
