WHAT WENT RIGHT
Coach George Nessman has been on the money with his recruiting, with redshirt freshman point guard Justin Graham and post players C.J. Webster and Chris Oakes all having solid debut seasons. Webster, from Texas State, and Oakes, from Pepperdine, were both sophomores. The prospect of all three being together for two more seasons is a pleasant thought for SJSU fans.

WHAT WENT WRONG
San Jose State got swept by Idaho and lost a game at Louisiana Tech -- those were the other low-level WAC teams the Spartans needed to beat to start climbing in the conference standings. San Jose State still had a close-but-not-quite element to its season, losing seven conference games by six points or less.
