Jaguars report: Getting inside
After exchanging blowout wins on their home court during the regular season, Southern and Jackson State completed the best game of the SWAC tournament as the Jaguars fell to the Tigers in a first-round game as Tiger point guard Catraiva Givens made two free throws with 6.5 seconds remaining to end the Jaguars' season. Southern guard Chris Davis had the ball stripped by Darrion Griffin as time expired to put the final stamp on the Jags' season. The contest was a matchup of the last two SWAC tournament champions. But Southern looked like anything but a champion most of the season. After starting out 4-1 in SWAC play, the Jaguars went 5-8, scoring less than 55 points in five of those losses. The Jaguars averaged 62.8 points a game on the season. Head coach Rob Spivery will definitely be working on the offense next year. Copyright (C) 2008 The Sports Xchange.
