This was what all the fuss has been about regarding the Lopez twins.
This was evidence the whole country saw, proof that convinced Marquette and ended the Golden Eagles' season.
Third-seeded Stanford (28-7) is headed to the regional semifinal against No. 2 Texas thanks to a dominating performance by its 7-foot sophomore twins.
Brook Lopez, two days after scoring just four points in a one-sided win over Cornell, had 30 points and made the game-winning basket on an acrobatic baseline shot with 1.3 seconds left in overtime to seal an 82-81 victory.
And brother Robin had 18 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots.
Brook said he wasn't immediately sure his game-winner was good.
"Man, I was on the ground looking at it roll around, hoping it would fall," he said.
Senior Taj Finger said he's seen it before.
"That's kind of a typical, trick, Brook Lopez shot," Finger said. "He does that all the time in practice, so I don't think anyone was really surprised to see him take it. Or that it went in."
Brook Lopez, limited by two quick fouls in the first half, took charge in the overtime. He had six of Stanford's eight shot attempts and scored eight of the club's 11 points in the extra period.
"You can't stop him," Finger said. "He's so long, and he's got great touch. There's really nothing you can do, and he's proven that all year."

Hey guys, I'm trying to set up a sim league starting next season, where a simulator plays out the game and gives you realistic scores and stuff, and your Cardinal are still available! If you are interested or have any questions feel free to e-mail me at dosegorillaz@aim.com.
OK! Enough excitement and shakeup. Shoot off any ideas you might have for Bowslby about rebuilding the men's basketball team. Oh, and feel free to express thoughts on our chances next year in the PAC-10 with a freshman coach and a Lopez-less team. I for one am not against poaching Cal for Monty back, you know Bowslby could say something like this to Barbour:
I thought for sure Robin was going to stay 1 more year but both Robin and Brook anounced they're going pro.... This sucks, we have no big guys for next year.
I have Stanford going to the final four in 3/6 boards and I have really grown to like them. My colleagues are laughing at me saying they have no chance against Texas but that is about the end of their argument. From the games that I have watched them play, I was very impressed but since 6 PM Central time Thursday I haven't heard the end of it. Please remind me why Stanford is going to beat the tar

Right now I'm looking at my bracket and I think Stanford has a legit shot to make the final four. The way I see it working out is you guys beat Cornell, Marquette, Texas, and Pitt. You know your team better than I do, is this reasonable or am I completely insane? I just think that with your strong inside game you can hang with the big boys and surprise some people...
Great job Guys!
I am proud of how well you guys handled yourselves after the early ejection of Coach Johnson! Cardinal players are the pride of the PAC-10!
I wish your team the very best in your bracket and I hope we meet in the final four!
