THE GOOD NEWS
Everyone could be back next season, and with the return of the injured players and the incoming freshman class, coach Jim Boeheim may look behind him and actually see a bench in 2008-09. Syracuse will be among the most talented teams in the league next year, and a combination of Jonny Flynn, Eric Devendorf, Paul Harris and Arinze Onuaku would be difficult for any team in the country to match up with.

THE BAD NEWS
Donte Green chose not to back away from the lure of the NBA. His departure leaves a hole in the lineup, as he's the player who would be the trickiest to replace. How the staff is going to be to get this team to improve its decision-making in key spots becomes a central issue. Chemistry also may be a concern; Boeheim will need to re-integrate Eric Devendorf and Andy Rautins into the rotation, which means some players may see their minutes sliced accordingly.

KEY RETURNEES
Everyone but Green. But Jonny Flynn is the key -- he stepped right in to the point guard spot and immediately established himself as the team leader. Arinze Onuaku could be an all-Big East player if he takes a similar leap forward to the one he did before this season.

ROSTER REPORT

--Jim Boeheim scored a huge coup in landing Iowa State transfer Wesley Johnson, a skilled power forward who left Ames after averaged 12.4 points per game as a sophomore.

--G/F Paul Harris addressed rumors that he might leave school early just a few minutes after the season-ending loss to UMass. The sophomore told the Syracuse Post-Standard "I know for a fact that I'm coming back."

--G Andy Rautins was lost for the 2007-08 season in August after injuring his knee at the FIBA Americas Championship. He hopes to be 100or the start of practice in the fall.

--G Eric Devendorf tore his ACL in the Dec. 15 victory over East Tennessee State. After undergoing knee surgery in January, he'll be back in 2008-09.
