It was a season of what might have been for the Golden Eagles.

TTU (13-19, 10-10) lost 11 games by five points or less, proving it simply couldn't close out games at the end.

The Golden Eagles were an explosive offensive team that caused opponents fits. End-game execution gave the Eagles their own headaches.

TTU returns 10 of its 13 players next season, but the three it loses will be difficult to replace.

Senior Rashaud Nixon was a solid guard and defender, while guard Anthony Fisher led TTU in scoring at more than 17 points a game. Replacing Amadi McKenzie, who averaged more than 14 points and eight rebounds, will be difficult as well because he was a strong and physical player inside.

TTU has a good nucleus of players returning, but if it hopes to ascend to the upper echelon of the league, the incoming recruiting class will need to make an immediate impact.
