With 10 letterwinners returning to this year's team, Wofford coach Mike Young had every reason to believe his team could improve on last season's 10-20 showing.

So for the Terriers, a 16-16 mark is an accomplishment, representing six more victories for a team that had just two seniors on its roster. Wofford won three more league games than 2006-07 as well, showing that the team is on the rise.

But the team will have to rise without those two seniors, and that might not be so easy. Drew Gibson and Shane Nichols finished their careers at Wofford as two of the more decorated players in the school's history.

Gibson earned all-conference honors from the Southern Conference coaches this year, and Nichols finished with 1,176 career points.

Moving forward, though, is necessary, especially if the team is going to continue its upward climb. This year's 16 victories represented the most of Wofford's Division I era, giving the team something to build on for next season.
