--Junior QB Tim Tebow added to his impressive trophy collection in April by winning the James E. Sullivan Memorial Award as the nation's most outstanding amateur athlete, presented by the AAU at the New York Athletic Club. He is the second athlete in school history to win the award, joining swimmer Tracy Caulkins (1978).
--Junior LB Brandon Spikes is on the 2008 Lott Trophy watch list and senior guard Jim Tartt is on the preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy. Spikes (6-3, 245) was second in the SEC with 131 tackles last season. Tartt (6-3, 300) was a second-team All-SEC pick in 2007 and has started more games (29) than any active player on the team.

RB Chris Rainey -- The sophomore ran a scorching 4.24 40-yard dash in a race against five Florida students, marking the fastest recorded time in Urban Meyer's tenure. He also ran for 75 yards and a touchdown and scored on a 65-yard pass play in the Blue-Orange game. "I feel good," he said. "I have to keep doing this, keep improving every time I play and just get ready for the season."
WR Deonte Thompson -- With receivers Percy Harvin, Louis Murphy and Carl Moore dealing with injuries this spring, the redshirt freshman took advantage of the extra reps and showcased his playmaking ability and track-star speed.
DE Carlos Dunlap -- The 6-6, 290-pound pass-rush specialist punctuated his breakout spring with a school-record four quarterback sacks in the spring game. He could platoon with sophomore Justin Trattou to help fill the void created by the early NFL departure of Derrick Harvey. "With his pass rush, he could be a force in the SEC, and if you're a force in the SEC, you are one of the best players in America," Meyer said.
LB Brandon Hicks and LB Lorenzo Edwards -- The sophomores made consistent plays throughout the spring and will contend for the starting outside linebacker spot opposite junior Dustin Doe. Edwards had a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown during the spring game.

Urban Meyer has promised someone else playing and is setting Moody up for less minutes. Why do I say this? Kestahn Moore laid it down too much the last two years and still saw playing time in big games. Why would Meyer start the season off with such a negative response is something to scratch your head about as well. Just remember where you heard the inside scoop.
