Bulldogs report: Notes, quotes
--It isn't often a team can add a starting quarterback after spring practice, but that's what happened to Louisiana Tech when Taylor Bennett announced he was enrolling for graduate school. He won't have to sit out a year and immediately becomes the favorite for the starting job (at least one would think so). "I wanted to play for Coach (Derek) Dooley," Bennett said. "He wants to win. If I can come down and work hard and prove myself this summer and fall, then we'll see where it leads." --Louisiana Tech players got some mention long before the start of the 2008 season. S Antonio Baker, LB Quin Harris and P Chris Keagle were all named honorable mention All-Americans by NationalChamps.net. --DT Josh Muse (Giants), S/LB Mark Dillard (Patriots) and OL Ryan Considine (Packers) all signed free agent deals with the NFL. SPRING MOVERS LB Brian White -- He had a big spring game, running 71 yards with a blocked field goal for a touchdown and adding an interception. LB Jay Dudley -- He was voted the Defensive Surprise of Spring, capping his effort with 5.5 tackles, including a sack, in the spring game. Kris Cavitt was the offensive winner. S Antonio Baker and OL Jared Miles -- Both were named as winners of the Big Lick Award in camp. CB Josh Victorian -- He had an outstanding camp, capped by a big spring game.
