I kept reading your short concise post and finally realized that the whole reason for your post was to get folks to read Freeman's article.

As someone who had few  want  to read a blog entry about the Women's final four I applaud your ingenuity in getting people to read Freeman's article with the word Ladies in the title and at a time when the Men's f ...(more)

Doyel, seriously? That was your whole argument?

I never thought I'd say this, but Mike Freeman just kicked your butt.

Women's basketball is the poster child for what is wrong with title IX. By forcing just about every school who has a men's BB program to add a women's (because it's not that expensive), a situation has been created where a MUCH smaller talent pool has been stretched very thin. There is just no getting around the reality that the number of boys who play basketball on all levels his higher than th ...(more)

Women's basketball is horrible and actually painful to watch, whenever I watch for more than 30 seconds my head starts to hurt and blood actually pours from my eyes.

Half the women suck and can't make a shot to save their lives and the other half suck just as much except they luck up and make a shot for time to time.

There is no excitement in the game unless you get exci ...(more)

Although one can argue that the ladies games are as competitive in their repective level of play, and can generate just as much excitement for their fans as can the men's games, comparing the two is simply foolish. The easiest argument to make against the ladies game is that they have to use a smaller and lighter basketball than the men, yet still can't generate much more scoring than an average M ...(more)

Seriously, womens basketball is a lay-up drill exercise with an occasional shot from 16' going in between the other 20 misses.  Why not just watch the men warm up and you'll see the same thing with more 16 footers going through the hoop.

I'd rather watch 5 year olds playing tee ball.  Atleast there are occurances for the occasional laugh.  When a kid runs to t ...(more)

I agreed with Freeman when he wrote the story about Tyler Hansbrough being overvalued as a "hustle player" because he's white. But this, I'm afraid, is ridiculous — and my mind is wide open.
Women's basketball is like men's basketball under water.

Freeman says that the women have caught up to the men in quality of play.  That's all I read.  Maybe I'm sexist, but women's basketball is a waste of air time.  It's competitive.  The women work hard, play hard, etc.  But it isn't worth watching.  The TV execs are trying to find a viable women's sport to put on the air and are shoving women's b-ball down our throats.& ...(more)

Nice, Doyel.  After reading Freeman's rambling, I didn't need more convincing.  All you need to know happened in Tampa Bay two weeks ago with four double-digit seeds advancing.  Women's college basketball has such disparity that it's completely useless to watch.  When two ranked teams play, take the better ranked one to win.  If they're very close in ranking, take the home ...(more)

Wow an entire sentence.  That is front page material.  I wonder how long it took for this article.

In all seriousness, I am a basketball fan (NBA and college) but I cannot get into the women's tournament.  The games just aren't as exciting to me.  I just prefer the athelticism of the men over the women. I want to see people dunk and make high flying pl ...(more)
