Winters knows about toughness, plenty about Favre
It's no surprise Brett Favre will induct Frank 'Bag O' Donuts' Winters into the Packers Hall of Fame. If there's anyone out there who knows about toughness, it's Favre's former center and longtime friend, Lesley Visser says.

Face value: Feeling here is Torres terrific, not tainted
Because we've been disappointed so often, 41-year-old mom Dara Torres' amazing swim into another Olympics has some questioning whether she got any 'help' to get there. Lesley Visser prefers to believe the oft-tested Torres is amazing us completely on her own.

Inevitability of Federer-Nadal final only adds to drama
Rafael Nadal, flopping hair and bulging muscles, seems destined to take on Roger Federer -- Mr. Cardigan Sweater, grace under pressure -- for the third straight year in the Wimbledon final. And it will be their best clash yet, Lesley Visser says.

DH debate: Should they stay or should they go now?
The debate is as old as time, or at least as old as the DH: Should pitchers hit? Of course the opinions differ in each league, but Lesley Visser says one thing is sure, a pitcher that can hit can't hurt.

When crazy pitch is working, batters simply knuckle under
Tim Wakefield was in trouble in the third inning Saturday -- and then masterful the rest of the way in an 11-3 victory over Seattle. Lesley Visser says it was a typical day in the confounding life of a knuckleballer.

All eyes on Big Brown's run for glory at Belmont
Big Brown is just a horse, of course, but it's receiving star-like attention. And for good reason. Saturday's Belmont will determine if Big Brown becomes historic or merely a footnote. All signs are pointing to a dominating win, Lesley Visser says.

Young D-Backs winning without a lot of desert love, attention
Quick. Name three players on the first-place Diamondbacks. 'Once people get past the Big Unit, they are kind of stuck.' This is puzzling to Lesley Visser, who tries to make sense of it.

One and all done? High-profile coaches say change needed
The reason for the gathering was to raise money for cancer research, but the topic of the night was the one-year rule. Many coaching giants agreed, telling Leslie Visser change is needed.

First place to Marlins: What are you doing here?
They're off to the best in franchise history, their young superstar is about to be locked up for six years, and a new stadium is on the way. Lesley Visser says life is good all of the sudden for the Florida Marlins.

Architect of 'Jordan Rules' predicts nostalgic Eastern finals
Chuck Daly is out of the NBA but he's certainly not out of touch with the play and the playmakers. As Lesley Visser discovers, the author of the 'Jordan Rules' still has his opinions.

Plenty of options for your money in Run for the Roses
You want to go with the favorite, lean toward the speed, bet on a trainer or focus on the filly? Leslie Visser says there are any number of directions to send your money for Saturday's Kentucky Derby.
