The Patriots got outplayed.....

Posted on: February 4, 2008 2:47 pm

Who would have thought it?  The Patriots and the Giants played a classic super bowl on Sunday.  The team that played the best walked away as champions.  The patriots had there chances but when it really mattered they couldn't keep the Giants out of the endzone.  As a patriot fan this is not the end of the world.  The Patriots put on quite a show during this season.  There were many records broken and hopefully the core of this team will be back to defedn the The AFC championship.  You can't win them all but this game was heartbreaking in many ways.  When it looked like we had the Giants down and out Eli Manning came through with one of the clutchest plays in super bowl history.  As a fan I have to tip my hats to them.  You can't win them all.

Hopefully this offseason the patriots will address some needs that are glaring to us fans.  We need to get some bigger CB's, some youth at LB and some Safety help.  This team is set up to be a super bowl contender for the next 4 or 5 years.  This loss is not the end of the world.  The patriots have still won 3 super bowls in the last 8 years.  There is not another franchise in the NFL that would not change seats with us.  Congrats Giants and Hopefully we will see a rematch next super bowl.

Is it baseball season yet

The Patriots got outplayed.....

There will be big holes in the defense if Assante Samuel leaves, and the greybeards (Seau, Bruschi, and Harrison) retire.  I really hate to say this, but having two 1st round draft picks, #7 and #31, would look pretty darn good to me.  I can see two youn linebackers coming into the fold.

I have to say I am disappointed in the Super Bowl. The Giants played GREAT, and deserved to win... they were the etter prepared, more emotional and "alive" team.  Patriots players did not seem prepared, and came out flat.  The team did not adjust and there were several playcalling/clock management decisions that I disagreed with as well.  Enough beating up the
