The Masters is coming up. My favorite hole is #12 Golden Bell. I even bought a bunch of Azaleas last weekend to trick my house out like it. What is your favorite hole?

Here is the link to the course:

great question sherm.....although i have a picture of amen corner in my bedroom, which shows the green from 11, through the tee box and green on 12, and also, the tee box on 13...my favorite i think would have to be 13. a long doglegg left, with water in front and a brutal green to stick it close. off the tee, it calls for a long sweeping draw, that if you can hit it to about 230-240,then it'll catch the slope and roll out to within 200 yrds or so.if you can somehow birdie, or ,gasp!.eagle it ,you can change the mo of the whole tournament! what a beautiful hole, with a great risk reward set up!

iho.....

"In my opinion this13th hole is one of the finest holes for competitive play I have ever seen.  The player is first tempted to dare the creek on his tee shot by playing in close to the corner, because if he attains this position he has not only shortened the hole but obtained a more level lie for his second shot.  Driving out to the right not only increases the length of the second, but encounters an annoying sidehill lie.  The second shot as well entails a momentous decision whether or not to try for the green.  A player who dares the creedk on either his first or second shot may very easily encounter a 6 or 7 at this hole.  Yet the reward of successful, bold play is most enticing."   Bobby Jones

I, too, like the 13th hole the most.  Although the 2 easiest hole on the course, it creates much drama.  I let Bobby Jones' words do the speaking.  I don't think that I could have stated it so eloquently...

You can call Number-Twelve anything you want.... Golden Bell or Pain in The Butt.....

I agree with you, Shermboat, on this one.  I too think this is a great hole.  It's only about 155 yards or so and it brings these players to their knees [ especially when the wind blow a little ].  The green isn't very deep and it's requires a  demandingly accurate shot... otherwise you're in the sand [front/back] or worse yet in the water.

The shot to the green is just beautiful and Ben's Bridge is always a pleasure to see.  I've never been there, but maybe one of these days . . . .

Great blog item..!!

I let Bobby Jones' words do the speaking.  I don't think that I could have stated it so eloquently...I have said it before and I will say it again. Until Tiger wins the true Grand Slam this year, Bobby Jones was the best golfer ever. Thanks umhula77 the 13th is getting some traction.

#16.  Such a pivotal hole in close matches on Sunday at Augusta.  Faldos putts there back to back years to win back to back titles. Tiger's incredible chip in to drive a dagger in Dimarco's chest.  When it is close at Augusta and the players' hearts are practically jumping out of their bodies, and they are looking down at that long green with water to the left and sand to the right they know that birdie might mean a green jacket.  The pin will be tucked back and left on a slope thats ridiculous on its own, not to mention with the greens running at 14 or 15 on the stent.  Great question Sherm, cannot wait to see the first stage in the greatest season of golf potentially ever played.  I'm on the bandwagon and it's red shirts on Sundays around here.
