Strange things a foot at the Rangers game today..

Posted on: April 13, 2008 11:21 pm

I got to the game early today. I took my mom and my 83 year old grandmother. We got there early to get seated and let them get a view of what was going on(they both have never been to a Rangers game). Before the game started a camera crew comes up to a guy in the row next to us. I couldn't hear what the conversation was about. After the interview I asked the guy what he was being interviewed about. He told me that the interviewer was a British guy who wanted to know about Tom Hicks. I then asked him if he asked about the bar incident. He then told me "what incident?". Well here it is:

Soccor fans are some of the meanest fans around. I would like to see them measure up to Raiders fans. That would get ugly.

On a side note, I went to right field today to snap a couple pictures of Josh Hamilton while he was warming up(he played RF today). I left my mom and grandmother(we were in LF). Hamilton is warming up in right and I am snapping pictures he stops warming up and starts hamming it up for the camera. F*&^%$# classic. I was laughing at him and he was at me. Then after the last out I went back to my mom and grandmother, and he comes up in the next half of the inning, and blast a HR to where I was sitting in RF. Funny how that stuff happens.

BTW- If you ask my grandmother who the best baseball player is she will say Ted Williams. He was a  friend of my grandfathers in high school. He circled his picture in the baseball team photo of the yearbook and signed it. Kids go figure...

Strange things a foot at the Rangers game today..

Sweet.  Awesome day with the two moms.  I'm planning on taking my five year old daughter to Ranger game this year, it'll be her first.  Right now she knows that the pitcher throws the ball to the guy sitting down while the guy with the bat tries to hit it.  Looking forward to it, but I better do it early season...  Not going to a day game later on...

Hints: Sunblock, Money, and Good Seats. The Whiskey Tangos were a little much for my mom and grandmother. Should of moved to a better section of the Ballpark but with my mom being Handicapped, our choices were limited. I got sunburned none the less..

Thaks for stopping by Mr. York.

I will have to agree with you Sherm; foreign soccer fans are the worst.  It seems like every day you read about some fans rioting at soccer games.

I will be taking my 9 year old nephew to a game either this week or next.  I think I am more excited than he is.

That's pretty cool.  I didn't know the Rangers did pictures.  I am gonna have to get one taken with my nephew; he'd brag about that for months.

As I have never been to a Rangers game (moved from San Diego a coupla years ago) what would be good seats for a day game...  View doesn't matter, she's five and we'll probably wander a lot, but I would like to avoid too much direct sun if I can - mom would kill me if I bring back darling daughter with a sunburn - lol.

Easy to spot. Have them snap a pic. Also they have these new pretez dogs. Pretty good but $4.50... Go with the super nachos on the 3B side... Money.... The best thing there.

Right Field is covered. Hamilton makes a lot of HR's shot there. Store is right behind it too...

Tickets are cheap. I payed $10 for mine...

Jon: For day games, I prefer to sit underneath the Right Field porch.  I have had "nose bleed" seats, behind the plate, LF, RF, etc.  My favorite spots are under Right Field, behind home plate and first base side.
