Hypocrites or Homers?

Posted on: April 7, 2008 2:02 pm

I've come to love these sports boards, and post from time to time when i can(Im a college student doing work and living the life.)  I read and see some very good points, and i have seen the most awful of posts, and i do feel that i should get this off of my chest.  I try to incorporate interesting points that make people think, and if that makes me a homer, then goddammit i am one.  Im not going to lie, i disagree with many, and it doesnt phase me in the least bit when people tell me they think i am wrong and an idiot for thinking what i think, because in the end its really nothing more than spilled milk.

I dont make the decisions, neither do any of you people, unless youre someone who matters in the front offices, which i just doubt.  The experts here arent anything more than yes-men that have their own opinions and get paid to express it.  Thats why "expert" sports analysts are all fake.  That is why i cant watch ESPN, i only watch it for highlights, not for what John Salsbury(biggest *expletive* moron ever) thinks about teams.  I find it irrelevant to bring in old, washed up players to be analysts, they played the game and did what they were told to do, because i will be damned if Shaun King or Rick Mirer did everything according to what they thought was smart, not to what coaches thought.  These hypocrites know nothing of what a team needs, or how it "should" gel according to them in order to win.

People should honestly use common sense, not just for random, rather irrelevant sports boards, but in life.  A lot of people are *expletive* retards, doing and making dumb decisions.  I dont know if thats just how they are brought up, or just how they act in real life.  But these *expletives* need to get a clue, and i guess some on these boards fit the criteria for a brain transplant.  I have read some realistic, intelligent posters,(Jazzman, Jiggadhu, logicandsports, to name a few) and i have seen some *expletive* retarded posters.  I assume that some of them are just joking, and sadly, i know some people that really believe the stuff they post.  Ignoring it is the best remedy but at times, one really wants to strangle the village idiot for thinking what he thinks.  I am one that respects opinions, but for the love of god, think before you write people!

Its always good to end an essay, rant, speech, whatever you want to call it with a quote.  I really hope some posters take the time to read this.  But this is one of my favorite actors/comedians(older posters may know of him well.)
"I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it."
