R.E.S.P.E.C.T I Know What It SHOULD Mean To Me

That is how every Pirates fan should feel. From rediculous prices at the vendors in the stadium to the lackluster team that you are unfortunately a fan of, the average sports fan (or atleast a Pirates fan) should feel cheated. I know all of this first hand, being a Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Every year I am told that we have "promising young prospects" and that we will be a good team in the years to come. This is coming from management and owners of a team that hasn't had a winning season in over more than a decade and a half. And the Pirates wonder why they have under 10,000 fans buying tickets to a MAJOR LEAGUE sporting event. Call me crazy, but maybe it is high time for teams to start showing their fans some respect. Maybe they need to stop jacking up prices for the fans for everything they purchase ana actually put the money of the fans to good use to save up and get a quality player, quit giving players that get everything but their clothes knocked off of them every outing they have (Matt Morris) 10 million dollar contracts, and finally, quit giving fans false hope. Do something about it Pirate management instead of saying you will. R.E.S.P.E.C.T., that is what it means to me.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T I Know What It SHOULD Mean To Me

a very good heartfelt blog at that.all pirate fans can relate to your words to some degree.it's hard to figure this one out.we know were getting screwed,so we should boycott the team, right?easier said than done-for the true pirate fan--it's hard not to go see the park and support the team.i go once a year....but i live outside washington dc.never would i go to see the nationals or orioles ,even though they're close.it's all about the team you were raised on and for me that is the late 70's pirates....wish they would go back to that logo.it's been tough ever since, the 90's team was brutal.....damn those braves.....sid bream........bonds/bonilla.....going cold during series.anyway, what can you do?you don't suppose they could be sold and moved?that's whats tough-----make a point don't support them......but ...then will they be sold?very sticky situation.i tend to look the other way.it is a nice park.
