Checking out the Raptors For 08/09

Well, let's just assume that the trade for O'Neal is signed sealed and delivered with T.J. Ford, Rasho Nesterovic, #17 pick, and Maceo Baston going to Indiana with the 2nd Round pick of Jawai coming our way. Also going to assume Delfino heads off to Europe and Ukic comes over.

Starters:
PG- Jose Calderon: Well, we got what we wanted. He will be the every day man and will likely get 35 minutes a night. I can't wait to see how he does. Great jumper, can create off the bounce, WAY better defender than Ford, and plays with as much heart as you can.
SG- Anthony Parker: Don't worry, he won't be in Europe next year (I don't think he can go there without the Raptors consent). Prepare to see a lot of 18 Parkerville Court this year (We'll miss you Chuck Swirsky!)
SF- Jamario Moon: If his jumper got better and he worked on ball handling he will have a great year. A few pounds won't hurt him either. With O'Neal/Bosh roaming the paint he should have a lot of alley-oop opportunities
PF- Chris Bosh: We got the franchise some help on the boards! Now that O'Neal is here, if teams try and help when he drives, he can just drop it off to a 6 time all-star! Now that's luxury!
C- Jermaine O'Neal- If he's healthy for 70+ games that'd be awesome! When he is at full strength he can go for 20 and 10 any given night. If he's injured for the next couple years at least we cleared up 14 million for the 2010 offseason!

Bench:

Andrea Bargnani: Let's just hope he had a sophomore slump because he's starting to look like a big-time bust!
Jason Kapono: SHOOT THE THREE! I swear, he should just jack up a 3 every time he touches it on offense (well, maybe not everytime), but when the team is struggling it's nice to know we can just throw him the ball and he might give us 3
Kris Humphries: Well, he's gonna get PT this year. He's showed flashes of brilliance the past year and I hope we can give him minutes every game
Nathan Jawai: He's called Aussie Shaq for a reason! This guy is a monster! A project center, only been playing since he was 15, but he's got great size/explosiveness.
Well, IMO we need another guard. A Roger Mason type guy who can score but also can run the point if needed. One more forward wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Joey Graham: Well, I'm not expecting much from him.
Roko Ukic: A very big PG at 6'5". Will be the back-up to Calderon. Haven't seen too much of him, will just have to wait and see.

Well, here's hoping to a great season! If the trade falls through...well, let's still have a great season!

The Beyotch Is Back...

Kinda. I've caught up with all my school work (WOOOOOO!), but I will only make 5 or so posts a day from now on to appease my addiction to this site (It is addicting).

It's good to be back

Thoughts on the Raptors most recent defeat...

That was a pathetic effort by the Raptors. Indiana was without 3 starters yet our guys thought they could just walk out there and go through the motions and get an easy win.

I'm sorry Raptors...but this one ranks up there with the All-Time WORST efforts I've seen by you guys.  Oh, to make matters worse, Chris Bosh got hurt, just great!  Congrats to the Pacers on making us look stupid out there...no excuses for Toronto, that was pathetic.
