One great hoorah for the Braves Nation

Fans may come and go for many teams,as well as, for many sports, but one thing is for sure; Atlanta Brave's fans never die. Critics this year all have one thing in common and that is that they all believe that this year could be the last for the Brave's to get back into post-season with our veteran players.

It 's no doubt that senior players like Chipper Jones have the baseball fanactics wondering if this could be his last year. As a Brave fan, I hope not, but if it is, I can only wish him the best of luck and thank him for all of the great games he has given us. Personally, I believe he has the best batting stance in Major League Baseball. Thus, being the reason he has had such success behind the plate. Not to mention, his spectacular defense he has shown over the years. Yes, over the past few years, his injury proned body has shown that his day's may be numbered, but it takes nothing away from the stellar play he has shown Brave fan's and just Major league fans in general.

One of the saddest days I've seen in Atanta was when Javy Lopez left. I was really glad to see him come back, even if it was to retire. It just would not have been right for him to retire any place else.

John Smoltz, even given his age shows nothing to me that he is near ready to quit. It seems to me that he is just getting his second wind. Tom Glavine does show signs of wear and tear but I see no reason why he can't take us back to the days of glory. He still shows a lot of form on most of his pitches and I think he has something to prove to himself with all the doubters out there.

Last but not least, Bobby Cox has reached the time in his career that a lot of Skippers might hang up their hat, but no words have come out of the Head Office saying anything of the such. I say manage until you can't  Yell anymore. He is just as much a part of Atlanta as the players mentioned above. Yes, it may be coming soon, sources out of Atlanta say, but I'll bet there will be a lot of teary eyed ball players and fans when the day comes.

At any rate, A new bunch of players are showing signs of a new era in Brave Nation baseball. Yunel Escobar looks to be promising if we keep him.Francour has a lot of promise himself. Our pitching staff is not a bad look for the season at all. Sure we have some growing as a team, but I see no reason why the Atlanta Braves can't be America's team once again.

All in all, we have a lot of experience and some real sluggers on our team and I definately think that we'll show all the doubters that  as Braves fan's we can pull a few wins out just by our support in numbers at home and the loyal fans that travel with the team helps as well.

You have an opportunity to believe in one of the best teams in baseball history. Won't you join us?

Brave's fan forever--Hud--man

About To all of the brave soldiers!
To all of you brave soldiers, I thought long and hard what topic I would use for my blog when I became an All-Star here within the CBS SPORTS community. I thought, it had to be something that would define me as a person, but at the same time it must be about something that the majority of all of us had in common.I thought that sports is what everyone, confined here between these cyber-walls, wrote about on their blogs, but after reading some of them I found myself incredibly surprized. From politics to religion and family to college expenses, I found out that not everything is about sports within this community. I also found that we have a lot of intelligent young men and women that mostly just want to get away from their normal lives, even if it's just for a few minutes every day. We all know what is going on in our world today. But if only for a moment, we can just talk to someone about anything thats bothering us, that's what keeps us going without totally going crazy. Well, the other day I found myself responding to one of my threads about each and every one of us having the right to our own opinion, with out someone tearing us down by responding disrespectfully. I was very happy that so many people felt the same way that I did and I let some of those fellow threaders know that I appreciated their response. It was then that I met a really awesome person that felt the same way I did about our rights as Americans. So, here's to you hogwildfan5,Jlk and all of the rest of you soldiers, men and women, serving/or have served in the armed forces. I respect all of you for doing what you do so the rest of us Americans can have the freedoms we sometimes take for granted. I too served as a Navy Seal in the first Iraq war and know how hard it is to just survive over there. I held my best friend in my arms as he died after being shot and carried another friend out of harms way on another mission, so I know how difficult it is to leave your family and friends to try and make a difference in a complete strangers life. I only hope that we all can just take a moment on a personnal thread or Blog to tell these brave men and women thank you for their service in the Armed Forces. Thank you for allowing us to feel safe at night when we put our children to bed and thank GOD that you soldiers are doing your best to keep our borders safe. From me to you, thank you and may God bless each and every one of you! With the Deepest Respect, Steven J. Hudson
