Current standings as of  friday august 29th 2008 at 5:50 pm et

Mets 74-60

phils 73-62 1.5 games back

Marls 68-66 6 games back

Remaining  Schedule for Mets:

3 gms at Florida... 3 gms at Milwalkee... 3gms vs philly...2 gms vs wash...3gms vs ATL... 4 gms at wash... 3 gms at ATL... 4gms vs Cubs... 3gms vs Florida...

28 games remaining...

Florida is a .507 team... Milwalkee is a .579 team... Philly is .541... Wash is .366... atl is .440... Cubs are .630...

The mets have 12 games against easy opponents in the Braves and Nationals... so that leaves 16 tough matchups...

assuming they go 9-3 against the nationals and braves, and play 500 against the tough teams, that makes them 17-11 in the remainign 28 matchups...

giving them a final record of 91 wins and 71 losses...

now the real deciding games of the division will be when these three opponents play each other, and the cubs and brewers....  those will all be tough series to win, and important ones at that... lets see what happens.
