DGthing...

There is no sour grapes what-so-ever...The Rangers got beat by the better team, plain and simple!!! Just like theFlyers are getting beat by the better team!!! I will not change my opinion on Marc-Andre Fleury!!! He is a top 12 to 15 goalie in this league, who's numbers are inflatted by an amazing group of defenders in front of him!!! I would say about 40 to 50 % of the shots shot from outside the hashmarks don't make it through to him...When there are bodies in front of him, he is not a confident goalie!!! Plain and simple!!! You have your opinions and I have mine!!!

Wait and see when Tomas Holmstrom and Johan Franzen are parked in front of the net...You will see Fleury exposed!!! The Rangers didn't crash the net at all in the series due to not having anyone capable of parking their bodies in front...The Flyers have that and thats why I expected a better series, but I was wrong!!!

Like I said, I have my opinion and you have yours...No sour grapes!!! I know the Rangers got beat by the better team..It was obvious the whole series!!!

Fair enough NY...I didn't mean you WERE sour, just that one could get the idea you were...but that's probably splitting hairs.  I really wasn't looking for an admission of inferiority...I just think the notion that he'll "crumble" is an exaggeration.  He's more confident now than he has ever been...look at how calmly he plays the puck...admittedly he's still got some work to do on his puck handling skills...he bobbles the puck sometimes..but he's playing the best hockey of his career and I feel he can get better.

No goalie does it alone and true MAF has been the beneficiary of some very good Penguins Defense but when the D has let down he's been there to keep the Penguins in the game.  And yes he hasn't been doing it a long as Henrick and he's never been mentioned as a Vezina candidate, but if this kind of play caries over to next season he will.

If the formula to beat for his was so simple why have three teams now been able to execute it?  Agreed about Holmstrom, he's very good at what he does and he's made a lot of goalies lives hard, including many Vezina winners

In hockey, the coaches ask you to get (cover or account for) your man.

The fact is, Richards and Crosby are smart enough to know that they need to get through each other to reach their goals over the next half dozen or maybe even dozen years as Pennsylvania Stars on two potential Cup teams. And as young 20 year olds or thereabouts, a dozen years seems like an eternitiy.

They ought to be, must be ...will be ..and ARE...COMPETITIVE.

Carter needs to feel part of this too since Malkin is HIS MAN!

This rivalry could go off the charts in the next few years. ALL THE GUYS WILL FOLLOW THE LEADERS. There might be so many individual rivalries, bad blood and all that.

I REALLY, REALLY HOPE SO!!!!!!!  I love hockey rivalries.

Richards is the man.  Plain and simple.  hahaha

Brandon Dubinsky is one of a very few Rangers I actually like.  He'll be a great player and leader in a year or two.
I just got back from seeing that movie "Iron Man."  I thought it was actually pretty good.  I was actually very impressed by the way Tony Stark casted that metal ring with a homemade sand casting in a cave.  hahahaha.....I need to get out more.

I think I'm going to be working with some gas turbines at work...that should be awesome.  They've got a turbine there that they test that produces 30 or 40 megawatts of power.....the thing's a monster.  You should see that HUGE shaft spinning, not very fast, but you can just tell that that thing is so powerful.  They've got some big toys there.
Braydon and Kimmo might be back!!!!!!!

Since I love comparing Brandon Dubinsky and Mike Richards, I went back and looked at Richards' rookie season stats...

11 goals, 23 assists in 79 games...He was a +6 and had 65 PIM...6 PP points and 5 SH points...

Dubinsky's rookie numbers looked like this...
14 goals, 26 assists in 82 games...He was a +8 with 79 PIM...7 PP points and 0 SH points...

Pretty damn similar line across the board...

Now in all honesty, I really don't expect the offensive explosion like Richards had in year 3, but I do get excited about Duber's future with the Rangers...Can the Blue Shirts please lock him up with a nice 12 year deal???

Sorry for talking about Dubinsky, but watching the Flyers and Richards play makes me think of what the Rangers got...I promise I will make a post on Sunday following the game with the Penguins that doesn't involve the Rangers or Dub's!!!
