-G'nite, Colys!

-2112 sounds awful tempting, Slayer, but with the missus still asleep, I think I'll keep 'er reletively quiet for now...

Now Playing:

Johannes Brahms  Symphony #1

Berliner Philharmoniker, Karl Bohm conducting

Deutsche Grammophon, 1960

-An old buddy of mine back home (who teaches music at university & plays in the local symphony) highly reccomended this one-  he was bang on, it's a great piece...

Hey everybody!! My modem blew up last Friday and I haven't been on line. There's been some 200 pages that I haven't read and don't have time to!

Somebody from Louisiana said on here they'd like to see Tommy Emmanuel after seeing a video on youtube, but the closest show was in Austin. Well, now he has a date in New Orleans! Check out his site at www.tommyemmanuel.com for dates in other areas. I'm telling you this is a guy you should see.

Here's a sample http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Do-b7eHd72o

Enjoy the Ride!!

Evening Brick  -  We've had a very rainy April and May (so far) Cold too. See if I can get some rain your ways to help.  Johnny RIvers sure did some good early work.

Summer Rain came out in the late 60's and was really different for Rivers.

Mile High Guy  Always appreciate anything from Buddy Holly who produced as much as he recorded.

One of my favorites is Everyday..as it loads to play.  It's hard to find a bad record from Buddy..

Chuck Berry Almost Grown lyrics

</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="style2">

Yeah 'n' I'm doin' all right in school.
They ain't said I broke no rule.
I ain't never been in Dutch.
I don't browse around too much
Don't bother me leave me alone
Anyway I'm almost grown
I don't run around with no mob.
Got myself a little job
I'm gonna buy me a little car,
Drive my girl in the park
Got my eye on a little girl.
Ah, she's really out this world.
Yeah, and I take her to a dance,
We steady talk about romance.
You know I'm still livin' in town.
But I done married and settled down.
Now I really have a ball
So I don't browse around at all

Good-nite,  peace

UNC! was just about to log-out,  caught your post, thanks, Buddy is one of my all-timers (Waylon on bass)  can't get enough of late 50's early 60's stuff, must have been a great time to be a teenager, ( I'm 42 yrs old)  still, I love that era of tunes, all genres. Posted last night with Sinatras It Was A very Good Year, 1965  ( Ten years after his death)

With the Nelson Riddle Orchestra

It Was A very Good Year

When I was seventeen
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for small town girls
And soft summer nights
We'd hide from the lights
On the village green
When I was seventeen

When I was twenty-one
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for city girls
Who lived up the stairs
With all that perfumed hair
And it came undone
When I was twenty-one

When I was thirty-five
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for blue-blooded girls
Of independent means
We'd ride in limousines
Their chauffeurs would drive
When I was thirty-five

But now the days grow short
I'm in the autumn of the year
And now I think of my life as vintage wine
From fine older kegs
From the brim to the dregs
And it poured sweet and clear
It was a very good year

It was a very good year

Darn MHG  -  I remember that... when I was a kid.. so I won't show my age.  Brick, you picked a good one in SanFrancisco  -  Scott McKensie because I remember the year "67" when that came out... my first year on the air in radio.

There was all kinds of music on the air Brick.  The downside is that you have to play the lousy records too.

Higher and Higher  -  Jackie Wilson  came out the same summer, Wow what a hit!
