I know I'm a little late on replying to the original post here, but I gotta put my two cents in. This match-up is not what I wanted as a Rams fan. First off, the Zips are 3rd in their conference and currently have an RPI of around #95 so a win there doesn't benefit us much as it would if they beat us. We're sitting at about #65 in all but one RPI rankings system and are first in our conference. Secondly, you're going to be down your best player (Jeremiah Wood) and he's an inside guy. We are number one in the country at defending the three, so if we don't have to worry about an inside threat our guys will be all over that arc. Plus, I hear you guys use a pressure defense, so do we, which negates that as an upper-hand for either team. If it comes to to bench performance, we can go 12 deep when needed, I don't see the Zips going past 9 deep and that's cut to 8 with Wood out.
GOOD LUCK ZIPS, but it's not happening this year for you either. If you couldn't get in the tourney last year with 26 wins and a 2 point loss to #20 Nevada then what does this game really mean to anyone???
