I say, yes!
A large majority of ISU's problems stem from interior defense and rebounding. Martin gives us both a proven shot blocker (he's been around 2 per game all year) and an aggressive rebounder. It also seems like Tunnell plays better when he's in the frontcourt with Martin.
Let's face it...Tunnell's a YMCA player. He's a big body that wants to hover around the 3-point line and shoot spot-up jump shots. It's probably not where I'd want him to be, but nevertheless...he is an outside threat. Martin gives Tunnell the ability to play to his strengths while not having to always worry about giving up rebounding position.
I know Martin is a freshman and is still raw, but Arnold is just not cutting it. He's only listed at 6'6", which is probably a stretch, and is usually not big enough to handle the other power forwards in the MVC.
19.6 minutes per game is simply not enough for Martin. Get this kid in the game! I'll give you Martin's current stats and expand it out per-40 minutes:
PPG = 10.6, RPG = 8.0, BPG = 3.88
I would take that from my starting PF any day.
