I think that UAB should get a tournament bid unless they just faceplant down the strech. they get 5 more wins they are in the tourny

Last night's win at UTEP was a BIG step towards an at-large bid. If UAB takes care of business at home, then we've got a good shot at sneaking out with an at-large bid. Sure would be nice to beat Memphis though. Though they'll deny it, I'm sure our team will have revenge on the mind when they head to Memphis to close out the regular season on March 8th.

They are playing now like they are on a mission.....Mike Davis has them playing much stronger in the 2nd half of their games. RPI is now at 41......they have a great chance of getting in..Also it depends somewhat on the other bubble teams finish to their season.I think even another close game with Memphis would help.

If everything falls just right, C-USA can and SHOULD have 3 teams in the tourney. Memphis will be a #1 seed. Houston and UAB should both be around a #9 or #10 seed. That would be great for us all. Let's just hope Ohio State, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Nova do NOT make a run over the next 2 weeks. If there are no big upsets in the conference tourneys, look for both teams to get in. Since Memphis has played both teams, I can say.......if UAB and/or Houston get in the dance they can both make some noise in the first or second round.

I certainly hope that you are all correct. I am a little concerned about UAB's conference losses to Southern Miss and Marshall, though. It is all about perception. Look at what people said after Memphis lost to Tennessee...is seemed to validate in many people's mind that C-USA is a week conference (Memphis overated, lost when they played a real team, yadda, yadda, yadda). Since the conference isn't strong in many people's eyes, losses to mid-level or bad (no offense, USM & Marshall) teams hurts.
I also remember a few years ago when UAB got an at-large bid DIckie V was on one of those post-selection shows and said that UAB had absolutely no business being in the tourney. I think that was the year that went on and beat LSU in the first round.
The purpose of all these ramblings (if there is a purpose) is to say that although I think they deserve to be in, they might not get it because of perception. A win over Memphis, if we can manage that, I think were in. If not, if we can beat all the teams we play not named Memphis, who knows. As some of you have said, losses by other bubble teams can only help. In our favor, the selection comittee usually does a good and fair job of deciding.
Go Blazers!

Yes. Thankfully, people like Dickie V and Jerry Palm aren't on the Selection Committee. If we deserve a bid, we'll get one, regardless of the perception of CUSA. If we don't, it's because we didn't take care of business, not because some media types think CUSA sucks.

UAB does dont deserve a bid too many bad loses. south florida, georgia southern, southern miss, wichita state, marshall. The only team on there schedule a lock for tourney is memphis. Then maybe kentucky or rhode island like i said maybe they will make it but not likely. So why do they deserve a bid schedule so weak and suxs.

Finally, a little respect from Parrish. He's giving UAB the nod for an at-large at this point in time. Obviously this doesn't really mean anything, but it's nice to see.
