they were spying 4 years ago, and they got caught this year..........so wouldn't that mean they were spying for the past 4 years?.........hmmmm, makes you wonder doesn't it? well the fact of the matter is, bellicheck cheated, no matter what you say, he cheated. he spied against the Rams, he i spied against the Jets, he spied against the Packers i believe it was 2 years ago right? i think it was the packers. he even spied when he was on the Browns. i don't think he is a genius, i think he is a cheap person. anyone who cheats is a cheap person and i have no respect for them.

i know this doesn't mean that the Patriots aren't a great team, but if they have been spying over the years, and have won 3 superbowls, then you would have to say that they probally wouldn't have won all 3. i'm not saying that the patriots are a bad team, i am saying that if they didn't cheat, then i think they wouldn't have won all 3 superbowls, because think if they cheated in the playoffs, um how about against the Steelers. didn't goodell say that they had videos from spygate that were of the steelers? why would goodell burn those tapes? o ya, thats right, because it had confidential stuff on it, like "steeler eyes only" material. i feel sorry for you steeler fans, you guy probally deserve another trip to the superbowl.

Could somone, anyone please answer me this question?  If it is true, what all you Patriots fans say and say and say, that they gained no advantage from taping other teams signals, then why the hell did they waste time, energy and possibly their reputations by taping, and do all of you really think that the team received such heavy fines simply from filming from a certain spot?  Give me a break!  There is something much more going on here and for those of you who don't believe that, I truly feel sorry for you all.

You know, if this is all you have to bitch about you need to get a life. The Patriots tape coaches signs...it is well known. It is not against the rules , it against the rules to have a camera on the field not surrounded by three walls and a roof. Understand Yet?  I do not even know what team you root for but how many of them are on steroids or took them?  Talk about cheating..this is what you should be concetrating on. These Are Cheaters.

WAKE UP.

Given that the Patriots had been caught taping previously and warned that it constituted a rules violation, why would they continue doing it if there was no advantage gained?. That doesn't make any sense.

It's pretty simple to me.  If Belichick didn't gain a definite advantage in doing this.....then why has he gone throught the trouble do to all this stuff for the past 7 years or so....since their first super bowl.

He's been warned by the league, people have known about it, and he still goes through the trouble to do something that he knew has illegal.  Why go through the trouble if he doesn't gain an a definite big time edge????

And to especially do it against somebody (MANGINI) who knows about what they do.  Mangini didn't turn him in until the 4th time they played against eachother.....I believe that was a good enough grace period to say BILL, please don't do this against us.

The nerve of that freakin guy.

Had awful teams in CLEVELAND.  Didn't have great talent in New England for those 3 Super Bowl victories yet they always seemed to squeak by in the close game.  If they dominated their opponents I would say OK, didn't really matter about the cheating...however they won virtually every big game by a close margin.

Tom Brady is all of a sudden superman b/c he knows if the BLITZ is coming or not....thats what it comes down to.

and the great thing about it is belichick and brady are the only 2 that need to know that their cheating.....nobody else....and they can still get away with it.

heavywaite,

you are correct to a certain point.  there was a letter sent out to all the teams saying do not tape signals.  BUT what most people don't know is that letter was NOT sent out before the 2007 season.  it was not even written until the day of the first regular season game of 2007.  somebody show me proof that ALL the coaches got that before the game and i will say b.b. got what he deserved!!

To answer the question on why did he tape if it gave no advantage.

Answer: Taping could have given them an advantage. What kind and how much, who knows? The point being you are allowed to tape signals, just not from the side lines. That means if he had a camera man in the box with a zoom he could have gotten the same footage.

So the next question is why didn't he do it from the box?

Answer: Bill B said he didn't think taping from the sidelines was illegal. If you read the rule it never once says it was. Until the start of this season's letter from the Commish which was received late by most teams.

If you take the spin away from it all and look at what is actually being said then on its face this is a non issue. Except for those who want to make it an issue. The point Edwards was making is just that.

they won 3 superbowls by 3 pts each. you think that if belichick didnt think that he'd gain anything from cheating illegally videotaping that he would have done it??? id have to say of course not. after all he is a "genius" right? and since 3 points is just about the smallest margin you can win a game by, and the fact that belichick knowingly broke rules because he believed he could gain an advantage by doing it id say that that it sure as hell did make a difference, at least 3 points worth.

its not all of us "haters" that need to shut up, its all the moron fans that cant just admit that your coach is a bum.
